Razer Phone 2 is slated for a launch this October, and with a bunch of new smartphones lined up for a launch, one need not mention that the best specs phone will stand up. The Razer phone has started the trend of gaming-centric smartphones, followed by other companies releasing devices like Nubia Red Magic, ASUS ROG Phone, and Honor Play.
The latest is that the Razer Phone 2 is certified by Google and it is listed on the Google Play Console, thus making us find more about it. The Google Play Console listing has revealed that Razer Phone 2 is codenamed ‘aura’.
The Razer Phone 2 is powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC with the Adreno 540 GPU, supported by 8GB of RAM. This is disappointing as this SoC powered the previous generation as well, and users expect the next version to get an upgrade. However few of the companies that have completed with the CTS certification ahead of time would ask Google to keep the information private. Also the 2nd generation device has a resolution of 2560 x 1440, which is the same as earlier year. Razer phone 2 is based on Android 8.1 Oreo, which the predecessor is already running.
